A native of Florida, she received a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida Memorial College and a Master of Education degree from Emory University. For 38 years, she has served as a public school teacher and administrator in Georgia, Texas, and Florida.
Alean lives in Coral Springs, Florida. She and her husband Eddie were married for fifty-one years before the Lord took him home. They have four wonderful children, eleven grandchildren, two sons-in-law, and a daughter-in-law.
